Car history: |
AS YOU CAN SEE THIS IS A FIRE DAMAGED 62 CORVETTE 327 FI. I have owned the car for the past 18 years and it was a fantastic well preserved survivor. This past September the FI unit went up in flames and melted the front end and interior. The motor turns but has been fire damaged quite bad....see the melted aluminun valve covers. I would say the heat was probably 600 degrees since only the aluminum melted (other than the glass body of course) The transmission, rear end, gas tank etc. are all OK. What you see is what you get....no hardtop.....but the top bows are there. I was going to make a vintage race car out of the car.........but ran out of ambition..........I do believe this is the best use of this car.........could it be restored ....yes, but would take alot! |
